Identify the stain and fabric

Oil, protein, dye and soil-based marks behave differently. First check the garment care label and determine whether the item is washable. Act promptly without rubbing aggressively

Remove excess material gently and follow the product directions. Hard rubbing can spread a stain or disturb fibers. Heat can set some stains, so avoid drying the item until you have checked the result. Do not combine cleaning chemicals unless the labels explicitly state that the combination is safe.

Patch-test an inconspicuous area
